Je réfléchissais qu'il y a un siècle, c'est la bicyclette qui a accompagné le changement de société et les utopies; j'en veux pour preuve un projet fou d’autoroute pour vélos dans la région de Birmingham pensé en 1896... La formidable simplicité la bicyclette pourrait aujourd'hui permettre de ralentir les villes et d’accompagner la société vers une transition écologique, durable, saine, naturelle.
Que faire pour favoriser son usage ? Comment révolutionner en douceur? Pourquoi cela fonctionne-t-il aux Pays-Bas, , au Danemark, en Allemagne, au Japon, mais pas en France?
La bicyclette a besoin d’une politique réfléchie..., mais plus encore de chacun de nous!
L’usage du vélo ne pourra se développer que s’il est l’objet d’une politique, ce qui ne saurait s’improviser. il faut une vraie réflexion, intervenir au niveau de l’urbanisme, et aussi de la communication. Mais c'est très lourd, très long; les politiciens mettent des années avant de comprendre, avant d'agir.
Un petit « coup de grâce » serait nécessaire. Un évènement qui amène les gens à s’y mettre, parce qu’ils y trouveraient un intérêt. Se prendre par la main, ne plus dépendre d'es moyens de transports assistés, coûteux en énergie, économiquement, socialement. Se libérer du carcan, des lourdeurs, retrouver la simplicité... C'est à la portée de chacun d'entre nous! Il suffit de décider de le faire...

Some reflections and pictures from yesterday, when I was going trough Paris on my humble bicycle, Paris blocked by a demonstration of the Left Front, calling up to a new change of society, to a new revolution, well, old inheritances of the utopias of the dead communism...
I was thinking that one century ago, at the beginning of communism, and its revolutions in Russia or China, it is the bicycle which accompanied the change of society and the utopias; I use as proof a project crazy about highway for bikes in the region of Birmingham thought there in 1896... The great simplicity the bicycle could allow today to slow down cities and to accompany the society towards an ecological, long-lasting, healthy, natural transition.

What's to be done to favor its use? How to revolutionize smoothly? Why does it work in the Netherlands, in Denmark, in Germany, in Japan, but not in France?
The bicycle needs a thoughtful politics, but more still each of us!The use of the bicycle can develop only if it is the object of a politics, for sure, what could not act as itself. The real reflection is needed, to intervene at the level of the town planning, and also of the communication. But it is very heavy, very long; the politicians put years before understanding, before acting.
A small "deathblow" would be necessary. An event which brings people to put itself in it, because they would find an interest there . To take itself by the hand, more not to depend of are assisted, expensive means of transportation in energy, economically, socially. Release itself from the yoke, the heavinesses, find the simplicity... It is within the reach of each of us! It is enough to decide to make it...
